How Being An Anti-Agent Worked for Me...
For twenty-six years I built a successful real estate business without doing many of the things agents are told they have to do.
In all those years, I never farmed a neighborhood.
I rarely chased buyers.
I didn't build my business around open houses.
Instead, I built websites that answered homeowners' questions so thoroughly that many people decided to hire me before we ever spoke.
I didn't choose the corporate route- I always hated meetings and all of the rah rah stuff. Instead, I chose to go it alone with my own ideas of success and my own plans for how to get there.
My farm was never a neighborhood. My farm was a domain- website domain. And as markets shifted, my domain name changed as did the focus of the domain.
So when you look at the projects that I'm building now, they are all separate domains with separate themes and points focus.
"My goal was never to convince people to hire me. My goal was to become the person they were hoping to find."
My goals were founded in patience and but my domains were everchanging- in sync with the flow of the real estate market.
A couple of years ago, I decided to do some testing- on theories and on domains themselves. I learned the principles I built my first mortgage site on 26 years ago are the same principles that I employ today. Prior to that, I tinkered in sites related to my hobbies and interests.
Recently, I challenged myself to see if I could employ the same road maps and the same principles I did years ago to domains focused in other business and get the same successful results.
I tested and I found out the mapping system I created, is universal. The same system I had been relying on for years can be applied to Attorneys, psychics (yes, I tried that topic) and even restaurants.
So I'm pretty pleased that what I stumbled upon and what I created over 30 years ago is still working today. It reinforces the fact the good systems will outlast quick schemes.
